There are also a number of options you can choose to include or exclude from your policy, which will ultimately affect the premium you pay. These include:
- Motor Burnout
- Accidental Damage
- Personal Effects cover (only with Contents insurance)
Additionally, you may vary the excess you pay in the event of a claim. In turn, this will affect the premium we charge.
Finally, you can opt to pay your premium in either monthly or annual instalments to suit your needs.
-
Some things you should look out for when choosing an insurer include:
- Choice of optional extras so you can tailor the policy to your needs
- Variable excess feature (allows premium to be altered)
- Monthly or Annual premium payment options
- Paperless application
- 21 day money back guarantee in case you need to cancel
-
Insurance premiums are calculated on the basis of the risk you present to the insurer. By risk, we mean the likelihood of you making a claim.
Risk is affected by things like location of your home, the material the home is constructed from, the security devices installed, how the home is occupied and the frequency of claims.
-
By not disclosing all relevant information you are impeding the insurer's ability to accurately calculate your premium. This can lead to partial payouts or cancellation of your policy.
